Evercare Lint Roller

The science behind lint roller brushes is actually much more involved than a consumer would imagine--not only in the adhesive strip technology but in the structural requirements of the handle and roller design. The design team from Catalyst was responsible for assisting in the development of the original Evercare lint roller product and when it came time to improve structure and reduce cost for new rollers with more sheet capacity, Catalyst was again asked to assist. The goal was to reduce material in the handle, but improve structure with new rib design. Additionally, the bead around the perimeter that was to be used for sonic welding of the finished product had to be optimized so that no time was lost in production. In advance of building an expensive multi-cavity production tool, Catalyst build a rapid SPRInT insert tool in 12 days. After initial sampling, changes were easily made to the tool to optimize the design and improve cycle time for molding. |
